Justice for Ophelia
Donation protected
In 2000, Ophelia Williams-Pettway was raped by former KCKPD Detective Roger Golubski after he showed up at her door offering to help with her two sons’s cases, who had just recently been arrested. Roger Golubski continued to work for KCKPD for 10 more years after, and then merely transferred to another department in the county until his retirement. In the fall of 2022, Roger Golubski was finally arrested but remains at his home on house arrest due to health concerns.
“I am not a healthy woman…just like they say he isn’t” - Ophelia Williams-Pettway. Ms. Ophelia has developed numerous health problems as a result of the trauma she suffered and the years that trauma went ignored by the local, state, and federal governments. She suffered a massive heart attack more than 5 years ago, and has depression, anxiety, and diabetes, as well. Roger Golubski gets consideration of his health concerns and stays comfortably at home while awaiting trial for heinous crimes, but Ms. Ophelia is forgotten by that same system.
Ms. Ophelia and other victims of KCKPD are barred from any civil suits due to the 2-year statute of limitations in Kansas. She is unable to seek financial recompense simply due to time. Ms. Ophelia is a mother to four children, and grandmother to nine. Her love for those she cares for runs deep, raising 5 of her granddaughters – taking them to all the events that 8 to 16 year-olds attend.
All funds will go directly to Ophelia Williams-Pettway to cover living and medical expenses for her and her grandchildren, with any remaining to be used for reliable transportation.
