Justice for Ronald Davenport
On May 12, 2020, Ronald Davenport, a 63 year old man was harassed and beat up, at the hands of Sarasota Police Departnent. Sadly, this is not the first time Mr. Davenport has been severely injured by this same police force. From his previous incident in 1999, Mr. Davenport has suffered from neck and back spinal sprain/damage, as well as having to have both of his hips replaced at a young age.
On May 12, 2020, he was drug from his car, slammed to the ground, placed in a choke hold, and kicked multiple times in his rib cage. He was then taken to the Emergency room due to his injuries from the altercation where he spent five hours getting care before he was taken to jail and stayed overnight.
The next morning when released he returned to another emergency room/ urgent care center where we were told he suffered from fractured ribs, lung damage, cervical and lumbar spinal strain, multiple abrasions all over his body from his head to his knees, and multiple popped blood vessels in his eyes.
This campaign was started to help Mr. Davenport pay his attorney fees which are being acquired due to his incident with Sarasota Police Departnent. As a disabled Veteran, he’s monthly income is very limited and his lawyer fees are starting to really increase.
If you find it in your heart to donate Mr. Davenport will greatly appreciate it. Anything helps and anything donated will go directly to his attorney fees. Mr. Davenport understands that money is tight for everyone due to the state of our economy, and appreciates anything you’re able to do for him. If you have a moment please share the information on your social platform so that his story can be heard.
Police brutality is coming a major problem in our country and these stories need to be brought forth so that serious changes can be made.
Thank you for your time, and consideration.
