Justice For Sheldon Kaminsky
On July 15 2021, Guilford County Detention Officer, Sheldon Kaminsky, was involved in an unprovoked attack during his shift at the detention center. During the original reports, Officer Kaminsky's injuries were reported to be non life threatening, however, he has been on life support in the ICU since the attack. Officer Kaminsky sustained a traumatic brain injury and multiple facial fractures. He has since undergone surgery to repair the facial fractures. When the sedation is lowered he does not respond well.
Officer Kaminsky has been with Guilford County Detention Center for over three years. He has over 30 years of experience, including 22 years with Los Angeles Police Department. He has also served as a Park Ranger with the Rancho Simi Valley Parks and Recreation.
Sheldon Kaminsky isn't only a well respected detention officer, he is a supportive husband, a dedicated father and a loving grandfather. For the last week his wife Candy has sat by his side in the ICU. He has two amazing daughters, and the love of his life, his sweet granddaughter, who have been incredibly distraught through out this ordeal. When not beside Sheldon, Candy has been doing interviews to bring awareness to the dangers of the correction systems being short staffed and the good that police officers bring to the community.
This fundraiser has been created to help his family. Officer Kaminsky has a long road to recovery with an unknown future.
