Help Protect Strande Park Residents Rights

Donation protected
29th March 2024 update:
There have been significant developments on our site over the last few months, although things have appeared to be quiet. The Council has been pursuing their legal route using the "Fit and Proper Persons" legislation to unravel the mess of our site licence. In the meantime, we have sought legal advice with regard to our rights as resident/tenants and our situation. Whatever action we need to take to protect our homes in Cookham is likely to be a lengthy legal process, so we are utilising and now actively raising funds to help us to keep our homes/pitches in our little corner of the village. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated.

.Update December 2023

Thank you to everybody that has supported us with your donations! We no longer need to take legal action against our landowner as our council is taking progressive action to support us!
We are in the process of returning all donations please be patient as this will take time! I would like to wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas! Once again thank you so much for your support and interest in our fundraiser from our quiet corner in Cookham!

URGENT HELP REQUIRED TO PROTECT THE RESIDENTS OF STRANDE PARK

since April 2023, Strande Park residents have been threatened and intimidated and are fundraising for an injunction to prevent further property destruction and enable them to feel safe and secure in their homes.
My name is Lynda and I represent the residents of our park home site in Cookham, Strande Park. We have recently experienced ongoing substantial disruption to our previously quiet corner of Cookham, including the wilful destruction of our property, hedges, gardens and fences. This intimidation in some cases has meant that residents have felt under obligation to sell their homes for a fraction of their worth. Residents have felt victimised and frightened, and some are unwilling to leave their homes for fear of what may happen to them if they are empty.
Major incidents at Easter and in June where we had bulldozers arriving on site firstly to demolish the set of garages and to fell substantial trees and shrubs on the site, and in June to remove all the hedges and fences between our homes, wrecking our gardens and privacy. Please see attached pictures.

We have sought legal representation and under their advice we are now working towards obtaining an injunction to ensure that not only does this not happen again, but we can go out our daily lives in safety, feeling secure in our homes. Our small community is on constant alert in fear of what may happen next.

Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (our local council) are aware of our plight and are working on resolutions in the background however we have been told that their process may take years to complete; this will not help our ongoing situation.

Please help us to raise the funds to cover the legal fees for the injunction. We are expecting this to be in stages, though our initial target will be £10,000 which will start the legal ball rolling.

Thank you for reading and for your support.
