JUSTICE FOR TODD LOPEZ

Hi, my name is Tracy and I'm Todd's wife. On November 17th, 2022 my husband was senselessly murdered. Unfortunately, the St. Petersburg Police Dept. was the law enforcement agency that recklessly handled this case. Two homicide detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Dept, a deputy from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Dept. and a retired FBI agent were all dumbfounded at all of the evidence that was overlooked, not to mention the way this investigation was handled from the very beginning. The prime suspect was a person living in our home at the time who lawyered up the day of the murder, refused to give a DNA sample and told the detectives he didn't want them going through his things. Through a court order, his DNA was obtained and found to be on the shotgun that fatally shot my husband. Unbelievably, the police have closed this case with no arrest. We have hired a private criminal investigator to work on this murder and will stop at nothing to get the truth out so an arrest is made. I have also had to hire an attorney to keep an order of protection against this individual. This has all been very costly and needless to say, I wasn't prepared for this financially. Todd was a great man who didn't have a mean bone in his body and never turned his back on anyone in need. He was a great friend to all who knew him and helped many to get clean and sober. I never could have imagined something like this could happen to such a kind and loving man and that is why this is so important to all of us to get justice for Todd.
