Justice for Troy Strope: Help Us Uncover the Truth

Donation protected
On Feb 20, 2024, my niece Troy Strope's body, measuring 5'10", was found stuffed into a 50-gallon storage tote and left on a rural St. Francis County Road in Arkansas. The tote was discovered by teenage boys running four-wheelers.

The murder was investigated by the St. Francis County Sheriff's Department. The Lead Detective, Mr. Dale Arnold, from the beginning, seemed to know everything and wanted to hear nothing from her family. He was quoted saying, "I know everything". We, as a family, were all cleared of having anything to do with Troy's murder. However, Mr. Arnold made it very clear to us that he would not be sharing any information about her death or the investigation. As of my writing this today, we as a family do not even know the day she died. The following 3 people have been charged with her death or involvement in her death.

The above picture has blank spots with ? marks because it is widely know that there was about 8 people present when my niece was being murdered. The problem is only three people have been charged and never before have we seen people so under charged. Here are the charges for each of them. Lets keep in mind that the Forrest City Police Chief stated the following about Troy's Murder ‘No one deserves to die such a heinous, unforeseen death’

Micah Lacy 45-years-old of Forrest City and he is charged with:
  • First Degree Murder, a Class Y Felony
  • Abuse of a Corpse, a Class C Felony
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Certain Person, a Class B Felony
  • Lacy bond was set $1,000,000

Corey Jerome Anderson 41-years-old of Madison, Arkansas has been arrested and charged with:
  • Abuse of a Corpse, a Class C Felony.
  • Bond was set at $50,000

Willie Calvin Smith 49-years-old of Forrest City is the third person arrested in the Strope Homicide case.
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence, a Class D Felony
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Certain Person, a Class B Felony.
  • Smith bond was set at $150,000

On June 24, 2024 Micah Lacy was in front of the Judge for a bond hearing (Know as a Rule 8 Hearing in the State of Arkansas). When MR Lacy stood up and stated he was "Guilty as F@*k". The pled was not excepted because of the type of hearing it was. Mr. Lacy returned to the jail where he asked to speak to the Lead Detective. He gave what the Sheriff's Department has told people is a full confession. This was shared over the phone to a local reporter. (But, all the records in this case are supposed to be seal). He went on to tell the reporter that he also had enough evidence to convict Mr. Lacy. Detective Dale Arnold then went on to tell the reporter that we Troy's family were Clout Chasers that were out get attention from the media on the death of our family member that we did not care nothing about. Why would a person who is on the up and up need to talk badly about a victims family. Let me explain this for you. Troy left behind 3 children 24, 19 and 14 who are having problems processing all this and no real clue what to do to make sure the legal process works for her. Both of Troy's parents are deceased her family consists of her children a few Aunt's and some amazing friends. We came home from her service's feeling broken and empty. No answers in site and a local County Sheriff's department that no one could say anything good about. I started a Justice for Troy Strope Group on Facebook a place where we could bring people together share and keep everyone updated on the progress of her case. We started a Go Fund Me page to raise a reward to offer for information. People started sharing information about the crime which we tried to share with sheriff office (really they did not want to hear it). We had a simply process a few of us collected the information and then we compared notes. If we found something new we had 1 person who would call the Sheriff's Office once a week briefly give any information and ask a few question. We were given 2 opportunity to share the information we found with the media when they aired the reward we offered. All we want as Troy's family and friends is for Troy to be treated like they would want their daughters treated. From the beginning everyone but us knew we did not have a chance of that happening.

A Pled and Arraignment Hearing was set for July 22, 2024. Where I was told by the Victim Advocate the he would be asked his pled to the murder. If he said he was guilty it would move to a sentencing hearing which could be as early as a few days. Our family made arrangements to be present in the court. I was also made aware the prosecuting attorney wanted to speak with me on that day .

On July 22, 2024 the Prosecuting Attorney spoke with sister and brother in law. Here's how that conversation went: They were going to bring in Mr. Lacy and he was going to Pled to the original drug charges he has on file in the court. He would be sentenced on the drug charges because Bobby May the County Sheriff was on his back about getting Mr. Lacy off his books. If he was sentences on the drug charges the state would have to pay the county $40.00 per day for housing him while they waited on the Murder Charges which could take up to 3 years. He would not be able to get out on bond and Mr. Lacy would be able to have a surgery he needs. (Sounds like a pretty sweet deal for Mr. Lacy and the County Sheriff Bobby May.) The prosecutor asked what my brother in law wanted to happen in this case, his answers was Capitol Murder Charges. The prosecutors response was " that will never happen here, we can not afford that kind of trial".
The problem is my Niece was brutally murder and I did not hear anything about Justice for Troy in his statement at all.

Does it make you wonder why everyone seems to be looking out for Mr. Lacy best interest. Well it does me so I set out on a trail of connect the dots. They always say follow the money. Reading the graph below will give you a great understanding of why people are undercharged and not charge at all.

Help us raise money to pay for legal help. Someone who knows what we could and should be told. Someone to help us unseal the records (What are they hiding from everyone). Help us get Troy's case moved to a county that will look out for Troy. Is the Sheriff's Department hiding what they did wrong? Are they hiding the fact that Mr. Lacy family is in charge of the money that gets allotted to the Sheriff's Department and Jail. Why is this case the best keep secret in the state of Arkansas. We can not get the answers on our own. We need to get help to address the unjust things that happen in this County. Not just for my Niece but for all the people who live their.

If you are an Attorney of know of an Attorney that would be willing to help us please contact me. At this point I have spoken to Attorneys local to this County that flat out told me NO they would not help me. I have spoken with Attorneys in Little Rock Arkansas who have hung up on me when I told them it was St. Francis County, Arkansas or other laugh at me then hang up on me.
