Justice for William Figueroa

My name is Bryan Hodge Vasquez, and I am reaching out with a heartfelt appeal to honor the legacy of William Figueroa, a true pillar of our community. William's life was a shining example of selflessness and dedication. He tirelessly worked to support our neighborhood, often using his own funds to buy school supplies for children in need. His commitment to the welfare of others knew no bounds.

Tragically, after William's passing in December of 2023, his family faced a grave injustice. An officer from the Bronx Public Administrators Office took the money William had saved for his own funeral, leaving his family in a dire situation. Currently, William's remains are at a Queen's morgue, with the threat of an impersonal burial in Potter's Field looming over us.

In this time of sorrow, we, as a community, have the opportunity to step up and provide the respectful farewell that William deserves. We are establishing this GoFundMe to raise funds for a dignified funeral, to honor a man who lived his life as a beacon of kindness and community spirit.
