Justice for Mary Morgan Pewitt
Donation protected
I am the oldest daughter of the late Mary Morgan Pewitt, searching for justice in my mother's murder case. My mom was found murdered in our home on 6/4/1988. Initially, this case was handled by the local police department of a town of roughly 1200 people. After realizing they didn't have adequate resources or know how it was handed off to the local Sheriff's department and, eventually, the OSBI (Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation). My grandfather went back to college to get a degree in Criminal Justice to see if he could work the case because he wasn't seeing any progress. At the time of his passing, I decided to continue his fight. The OSBI has several peoples' DNA but has yet to run any of it.
The funds will be used to get an attorney to seek all the information from the coroner under the Chandra Turner Act. If that doesn't get them to run the DNA, I plan to file a civil suit to have the records open to a certified investigator. Thirty-four years is way too long to wait for justice. My family is waiting one more year.
All money will be used to bring awareness to the Mary Morgan Pewitt case.
