On behalf of the Alexander family, we want to thank everyone for their prayers and support.
On June 9th, 2020, a 27-year-old black man was found hanging from a tree in Fort Tryon Park and was later identified as Dominique Alexander. The article in the Daily News entitled "The Death of man found hanged from tree in Manhattan park ruled a suicide " has details.
There is currently an open investigation. Since assigned the case, the lead Detective has not been fully transparent nor fully cooperative with the Alexander family. The lead Detective took a week-long vacation after being assigned to the case and has not followed up with vital information integral to the completion of the investigation.
Here are the facts.
June 9th Timeline
6:00am - A passerby jogging in Fort Tryon park discovered Dominique’s body.
6:13am - Video surveillance shows police vehicles and medical personnel arrived to the park.
{Ruled a suicide at the scene}
7:19am - Video surveillance shows all police vehicles and medical personel leave park
We now need to take this a step further. In order to move forward with this case, there needs to be an independent autopsy completed as well as legal counsel to find justice. With the racial climate in America, it is paramount that we adhere to truth and seek justice in the face of adversity. We are asking that you make a donation to support the costs associated with this case to support the Alexander family during this difficult time.
ALL MONEY DONATED WILL GO TO THE DIRECT FUNDING OF THIS CASE (including the cost to exhuming the body, independent autopsy, and legal fees)
