My name is Katie Richey and I am Michael's little sister. I am creating this with an extremely heavy heart.
On March 19th, 2024, US Army veteran Michael Richey was tragically murdered in the Philippines in an ambush that was caught on CCTV.
The Richey family has already faced a variety of initial expenses, exceeding $30,000 USD. This includes airfare to the Philippines and back, medical bills, mortuary affairs, time taken off from work, legal fees, and various other unexpected costs. Despite our best efforts, these financial obligations continue to accumulate, creating additional stress in an already unimaginable circumstance. We expect there will be more unforeseen expenses, especially as we navigate the legal matters resulting from his death. Any funds not utilized for expenses related to Mike's death will be allocated to a trust dedicated to securing a stable financial future for his children.
