#JusticeForOtis Legal Action Funds

I am Jackson and I am  Otis' owner. We are using this GoFundMe as a way to raise funds to pursue legal action against the perpetrator of this vicious crime against my poor dog. We have been advised by the police and the RSPCA that they 'may' pursue criminal charges against this person but we are best to take civil action against him if we want him held accountable for this matter. Any support you can provide, even sharing with your network would be greatly appreciated. 

Note that any surplus funds raised will be donated to the RSPCA and other animal abuse charities and will not be used for our own personal gain.

I need you all to share and expose this monster who nearly killed my dog and left him in a critical condition. I am half way around the world and I entrusted a dog minder by the name of John Walsh found on a reputable online site who had an apparent long track history taking care of animals.

This guy was supposed to mind our dogs for 6 weeks and for more than 2 weeks I have been trying to get photos of the dogs to make sure they are ok. I was met with endless excuses and finally when I received photos I noticed my pug Otis was wearing his harness and had gross stains around it as if it had never been taken off.

I asked John to inspect the area and report back and he said it looked ok but he would take him to the vet.

The result? A 15CM GASH ACROSS MY DOGS NECK FROM THE FRICTION OF HIS HARNESS FOR BEING LEFT ON FOR OVER 3 WEEKS AND A SEVERE INFECTION THAT COULD TAKE HIS LIFE!!!

My vet said the infection was so bad you could smell it from metres away and he could not even comprehend how something like this could be allowed to happen. Imagine the pain he has experienced from WEEKS of rubbing to make a wound this horrible and the fact that I was more capable from 13000kms away to see my dog was not right and this monster was oblivious to the point that my dog could still die from infection.

I need to expose this guy and ensure no one ever entrusts him with the care of their animal. Further, I need you all to ensure that you do as much due diligence as possible before choosing a minder. I have head countless experiences of animal abuse and mistreatment when in care and this needs to stop.

Please share this and raise awareness to spread the word of this cruel man and let's pray my Otis recovers

UPDATE- Otis is doing ok and the vet has advised that he is in better spirits today. The wound still cannot be closed and he needs daily care and vet visits to ensure the infection is managed. He will very likely need surgery once the wound is clean and will have a long recovery due to the extend of the injury.

My mum has the boys at home and they are settled in and resting. Dobby is very closely watching over his little brother and they will be going to the vet tomorrow for a checkup on his condition. He is very grateful to be with a familiar face. We are forever grateful to Two by Two Veterinary Hospital for all of their help and support through this.

We have been in contact with the organisation that facilitated the minding service and they are escalating the matter, have provided a full refund and have removed John permanently from their site along with providing for all of Otis' medical costs. I will keep you all updated with his progress

We have also been in touch with the RSPCA, animal welfare and they are investigating the matter to establish whether criminal charges can be placed.
