Justin Briggs Fundraiser for Honduras Hope

Justin Briggs tragically passed away during the summer following his freshman year at Miami University. To commemorate him, the Justin Briggs Scholarship Fund was created with the mission of providing Honduran students the opportunity to attend primary and secondary schools, a cause very dear to Justin throughout his life. This was made possible by Honduras Hope, a non-profit started by Justin’s grandfather.
In 2016, his friends at Miami hosted a lacrosse tournament to raise money to donate to the Justin Briggs Scholarship Fund. This became an annual event. The fundraisers were a great success, raising more than $19,000 over 3 years, due to the support of Justin’s endless list of friends. We would like to continue this annual fundraiser, in memory of Justin and in support of families in Honduras who are struggling.
Right now, the world is facing one of its toughest challenges in a long time. While many of us are hurting, we are lucky to live in a developed country with ample resources. Some communities are not as fortunate as we are. For families in Honduras, their most pressing problem right now is access to food. The money that is donated to the GoFundMe will go directly to Honduras Hope to help families in rural Honduras, in memory of Justin. Honduras Hope is a charitable organization that supports health, education, and entrepreneurship in rural Honduras.
