Help Justin Cooper Fight Stage Four Colon Cancer
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Madelynne. This is my father, Justin Cooper.
Earlier this spring, in March of 2023, he was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. It has progressed not only in his colon but has also spread into his liver. He was 44 when diagnosed and is now 45 fighting for the ability to stay alive and be there for his 3 children, myself (21), Zane (15), and Colton (10). He is a father, brother, son, and friend to many. He has loving family and friends who are here to help him as much as they can, but of course sometimes that only goes so far. Justin has always been a kind friend of the community, whether for help and maintenance or just a good conversation. He has also always been very passionate about providing for his family. And is proud to be a blue-collar union worker, working in the pipe trades for many years.
We are looking for anyone in the community that has any spare hand or dollar to help him fight this battle. Spending the time he has left grinding away at work to pay bills and sitting in the hospital just to survive is no one's ideal way to spend the last years of one's life.
Justin started treatment shortly after being diagnosed and not long afterward developed a blood infection that had him hospitalized at Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, UT, unable to work for over 2 months. During that time he started having kidney dysfunction and had to be put on dialysis for many weeks. Even after being released from the hospital, with appointments and side effects from the treatments working full-time was impossible. Now Justin has restarted chemotherapy on a different regimen to suit his body’s strength. He is back at work and trying to catch up on time and money but as we all know, those things go by fast and bills add up even faster. Trying to stay afloat is harder than ever. If you have any time even just for some good conversation, a hand to help maintain his home, or a few dollars to make it easier for him to take time off of work for his appointments, anything would be greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to reach out to me. Your help is greatly appreciated. I know that there are a lot of family and friends that want to help our family. I am creating this GFM for a way for people to show their support. Thanks for taking the time to show my Dad that you care!
Any donations via Venmo can go directly to @Justin-Cooper-42 and of course, if you cannot donate, we understand that times are tough for many, please at least share this with those around you. At the end of the day, take this and go tell your family members how much you love and appreciate them and their health! Make memories with them that help you get through the tough times of life.
