There is not nearly enough space in these short paragraphs to describe how great of a person Justin was. Each of us reading this most certainly have chapters, even BOOKS that we could fill, that include stories of the ways in which Justin has touched our lives. He was a kind, caring, gentle laid back man that was SO full of love, and SO damn funny!
We remember Justin as a strong Husband and Father, and as a reliable, whole-hearted, and ever-faithful Friend. As a Carpenter, he leaves behind a beautiful legacy of work within each of his carefully crafted projects. Some of us are even lucky enough to live in homes with pieces of this precious legacy. These will serve as a constant reminder of the man Justin was: One who has humbly given SO MUCH to others.
I feel incredibly lucky to have known Justin, but even more lucky to be a part of his family. I think we all have a treasure chest full hilarious memories and stories, as well as experiences with him that show how honorable, moral and virtuous of a man he was.
Every time I hear Homer Simpson’s “Doh!” - that’s Justin. Every time I hear a song by ‘They Might Be Giants’ or the ‘Grateful Dead’ - that’s Justin. Every time I think of the ways in which I can SHOW my family and friends that I love them – that’s Justin. Let’s ALL think about the things that are just ‘SO Justin’ from our experiences with him and cherish these memories together, today, and always.
Justin leaves behind his wife and ‘Forever Soulmate’ Ali, and their 23-year-long fairytale of a story..… A seemingly never-ending one, that when excerpts or chapters were remembered or read, always started with “Justin & Ali.” One that was not supposed to end in heartbreak for either of them, for their boys, for their families, or for ANY of us. He also leaves behind two beautiful, yet devastated sons, twenty-two-year-old Bain and fourteen-year-old Kohen.
Not only are there everyday life expenses, there is the loss of their family business income from ‘Fitzgerald Flooring & Remodeling,’ compounded by astronomical hospital, medical and surgical bills, doctor and specialist costs (and each of them times 3 events within the past two and a half weeks) that are very quickly mounting. These costs and losses are exceedingly high, and there is no doubt that Ali and the boys will need their ‘Village’ to help.
In addition to the above expenses, we would like to use a portion of the donations to help fund a safe, public & outdoor ‘Celebration of Life’ *event in commemoration of what a wonderful man he was. One in ‘Justin fashion' of course, where we can all Laugh, Play, Eat, Drink, (Ie: Party!), just as he would have wanted.
(*This event will be held on a weekend date in mid to late August with time and place yet to be determined. More details will be coming SOON both on this page and on social media.)
Thank you all for taking the time to visit, read and help. PLEASE also take a moment to help us spread the word far and wide by using the links above to publicly share this important GoFundMe on your own Facebook pages. Every little bit will help make sure they are taken care of during this incredibly difficult and overwhelming time.
