Justin Goodell

Hello, my name is Patricia Goodell. I am asking for help for my son, Justin Goodell, who was involved in a horrible car accident on Thanksgiving day. This accident occurred at I-94 and 12 Mile Rd in Roseville, MI making the news. You can google '94 and 12 mile crash' to find the story I will recap here. Justin was driving up with my Daughter-in-law, my eight grandkids and their two dogs from Morehead, KY to the Imlay City, MI area for Thanksgiving with his family when the accident happened around 3:30 pm. This was an unavoidable freak accident and was no fault of his. It happened when a man argued with his family, shot two of them and was fleeing from police when he entered the freeway in the wrong direction. The shooting suspect hit a car head-on in the lane next to my son, causing the shooter's car to become airborne and fall onto Justin's van. The hit car was also pushed into Justin's lane, where a collision could not be avoided. By the grace of God, all 10 people and two dogs in the van survived. The shooting suspect and the man in the car he hit did not survive according to police. Justin, Liz, and a few of my grandkids are bruised and sore but alive. However, to replace his passenger van, which is necessary for his large family, is more than Justin or any of us can afford. They were driving a Ford Transit 15 passenger van, and these large vans cost from 50 to 60 thousand dollars. I would be so grateful to be able to raise the money for Justin to buy a new van. I am asking you to please give what you can, if you can, to help me make this goal. Thank You!

I would like to thank Ford Motor Company for building a sturdy van that kept the people I love the most safe. Thank you also to the Roseville Police and Fire Department who showed so much kindness to my family. To the people in the little row of houses nearby (you know who you are;~)), thank you for the kindness you showed to strangers by giving blankets, milk, etc. Thanks to Staybridge Suites in Southgate, MI for letting us stay late while we figured out how to get everyone back home to KY.
