Justin recover and ride again.

This is a photo of my son, Justin. He is an avid motorcyclist and loves the community that he rides with... then on Saturday, 4/1/23, the unthinkable happened. Justin went to a ride in Houston, TX with his good friend, Alyssa. As they were riding, Justin got ahead and decided to pull to the side of the road to wait for her. However, behind him was an accident that caused a motorcycle to become unmanned but still under full power. The motorcycle impacted Justin and his bike at around 50 MPH...the foot peg of the rougue bike traveled through Justins lower leg, breaking his leg in several places, and some of the bone flew out of his leg with the impact. You may have seen the video on Instagram but I don't want to post it here.

I am thankful to God, that he still had his helmet on and I am so thankful for the riders that came to help (this Momma owes you hugs and kisses), with their quick thinking I do believe that they saved my son's life. Now we are trying to save his leg.

The surgeon described Justin's injury as a very bad crush injury, they had to remove some bone to try and avoid infection, debride the injury and immobilize the leg for some of the swelling to come down with rods and pins. That was the first surgery, next week Justin will need a second surgery to put in place interior pins and rods as well as a device to try and regrow his bone.

This is going to be a very long process, at least 15 months of recovery and no guarantee that he will ever walk normally again or be able to ride again with his motorcycle community. We are asking for help because Justin will not be able to work for this entire time and healing right now is most important.
