Justin Santiago's Medical Journey
Donation protected
On January 15, 2023, my father, Justin Santiago, was taken to NCH Hospital and admitted to the ICU. Immediately, he was intubated and placed on a ventilator due to a lack of oxygen. He had tested positive for covid and came down with pneumonia on top of having COPD. While his body is tired, he has been making slow progress and is not giving up! We are hopeful that the progress will continue so the ventilator can be removed. He will go for surgery in the next few days to help aid his road to recovery. It will be a long road and a challenging one for him but we believe he can do it! He is a hard-working man who thoroughly enjoyed going to work each and every day. Being an employee of Spectrum Contracting for almost 30 years, he calls it his second home and truly means it. My father thoroughly enjoyed talking with people and is very charismatic. Once you got him going he was trip and often described as being "quite the character". I am certain he will love knowing the number of people who wanted to call and visit him. The family truly appreciates everyone reaching out to check on him as well. I am sure he will be returning everyone's call when he can.
In his current state we do not believe returning to work will be an option for him which is why we are reaching out for donations. Any donations will be used to help offset the cost of all his medical expenses and keep his house up and running for his wife, Dorothy.
In the meantime, please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
