Justin Smoker End Stage KD Living Expenses
Donation protected
My 23 year old son has been extremely ill due to suffering from end stage kidney disease. Justin Smoker was always an ambitious kid, always. While in Gulf Breeze High School, he became one of the youngest Managers at our local McDonalds. While other kids his age were going to the Friday night football games, he was running the restaurant. He then went onto working in the HVAC field and worked so hard, he quickly climbed up the ladder and became a lead installer. He bought his first home with his then girlfriend, when they were only 21. So yes, my son was on top of the world while making all of his dreams come true! Although he was diagnosed with IgA Nephrology @ 17 years old, he felt fine and carried on with his life. He spent several years being monitored by his child nephrologist until he was too old to see him any longer. By the time we found a new nephrologist, his disease had spiraled out of control and he would soon be so sick that he had to leave his job, sell his home & move closer to our family. It’s been a very rough road with my hours being cut back in order to care for him & a large portion of what is left of my paycheck going towards medical care to cover my family. I took a LOA from work last summer & had no choice but to get loans in order to keep paying for our medical insurance & to simply keep our heads above water. We will get ahead again one day but for now we need as much help as we can get & for lots of prayers to keep my son alive until he gets his new kidney. We are so thankful to be as loved as we are by so many. Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts.
