Hi there,

 

I'm Justin Taylor, an 18 year old first year student-athlete at Durham College and an aspiring National Team rugby athlete. I am a current member of the Oshawa Vikings, and a past member of the Ajax Wanderers.

 

After four years of hard work, great coaching and opportunities, at club (Ajax/Oshawa), invitational team (Canadian Misfits), regional (Toronto Rugby Union - Reds) provincial team, national (Rugby Canada Development Academy) and professional (Toronto Arrows) academy programs, I am so excited to have been selected to the 2022 Canada U19 East vs West Camp.

 

It has been a dream of mine to one day put on the Maple Leaf jersey, and having come through the Talent ID process this past summer - I now have this amazing opportunity in front of me.

 

Many of you may not know that rugby at the elite level in Canada comes at a cost. Over the last four years alone, my family has probably paid more than $10,000.00 so that I could play for Ontario in the 15s and 7s game in Canada and the USA. But things are getting much more expensive now...

 

The Canada U19 opportunity will cost $1,700.00 plus extra meals etc.. And the camp is coming up in January. I am trying to raise funds to help offset the cost to participate as I am also contributing to my college tuition.

 

On top of the Canada U19 team invitation, I have also been invited to travel to Dubai and play in the Emirates 7s Tournament, one of the world's top rugby 7s tournaments. This trip comes at a cost of around $3500.00 when you factor in airfare on top of the fees. The tournament takes place in Early December 2021.

 

I would love to take part in both events. The 7s Tournament could open up so many other pathways for me, as past players have gone on to play in Major League Rugby of for Canada's Senior teams. The Canada U19 program is my top priority, and anything any of you can do to help me get there would be really helpful.
