Hi, my name is Crystal. I have created this fundraiser on behalf of my brother Justin Tyler and the family members (mom- Julie, sister- Belinda, Aunt-Diane, Fiancé- Crystal A.) caring for him while he is in the hospital. On November 29th Justin was life flighted to University Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Since he arrived he has been fighting for his life daily. Upon arrival, Justin was in septic shock, heart failure, and kidney failure. The sepsis created an infection in his heart. He’s been on multiple different forms of life support off and on since his arrival. He had open heart surgery to replace the infected heart valve and it was successful! He was weaned from the dialysis and that was successful. However, he is still in septic shock and heart failure. The heart failure has caused fluid buildup and low circulation. He has necrosis in his toes, swelling in his extremities, and fluid in his lungs. While he has improvements in some areas, his hospital stay has been a roller coaster for him and his family. The doctors are describing him as chronically critically ill. He will be in the hospital for a significant amount of time. Justin must have a family member present in the hospital daily to consent for any blood transfusions, procedures, or surgeries that may need to be done. His mom has spent a significant amount of time at his bedside, along with his fiancé, sisters, aunt, and father. Unfortunately we all live out of state so being at his bedside has been costly for us all. A lot of people have reached out and asked how they can help so we’ve decided that GoFundMe was the best route. We are discussing a schedule to take shifts flying or driving to New Orleans to be at his bedside. We would use these funds to assist in the travel costs to be with him. We will also use these funds towards any medical or long term costs Justin may have. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support!
