These are the words of my friend Tammy Fiorella, a heartbroken Mom who lost her daughter way too soon...
June 9, 2018 was the worst day of my life. I lost my first true love.....
Months after my 18th birthday, Justine Marie came in to this world on October 2,1990 kicking and screaming, full of life and beauty with a kind beautiful soul. She quickly became my world. My best friend, my heart, my reason why. She started her journey of addiction around the age of 17-18. We were watching our funny beauty whither away. Once we knew for sure what was happening we got her help. She tried suboxone, methadone and then went to LA years ago to truly be abstinent and live the life she deserved. She did long term recovery and lived as a house manager in sober living.
No mother should find their child dead in bed from what we believe to be an overdose. I'm hoping I will get to feel her in other ways around me and you will too. In the flowers, in the sand on the beach, in a beautiful breeze, even in a powerful storm but most of all in the stars that watch over us. I will choose to remember her at her happiest. Surrounded by friends and family and those she loved most in the world laughing.
