Justin's Cancer Battle Fundraiser
Donation protected
(TLDR: I am creating a GoFundMe for my friend, Justin to help him fight cancer. All of my thoughts below are written from my experience when hanging out and knowing Justin)
Hi, Thinh here. I am creating this GoFundMe page for a good friend of mine, Justin, to alleviate his financial burden and medical bills in his battle with cancer.
Around August 2023, my friend Justin was diagnosed with basaloid tumors in his salivary glands, a rare type of cancer that could not be treated with surgery due to its close distance to the brain and his eyes and he is currently in stage 4 cancer.
His symptoms had been occurring for almost a year yet he was undiagnosed at Iowa until he got transferred back to Stanford Hospital, where he found out about his critical condition. Right now, the tumor has spread out to the back of his left eye, deteriorating his left vision and causing blindness in his left eye. His only option as of right now is to continue chemo and radiation therapy. He has been through a lot of cycles of chemo treatments. Justin is in pain frequently, not getting enough sleep, and developing eating disorders due to his chemo treatments.
When getting to know Justin, he has always been an ambitious, and energetic person. He’s an aspiring tech guy who loves to explore analog photography and a well-known cat guy.
Since he received this unfortunate news about his situation, he has always persevered and stayed on track with his academic pursuit, life, and his battle with cancer. I am in awe of his great personality.
Right now, Justin has been admitted to Stanford Hospital for critical care. He has applied for state and federal assistance yet everything seems to be slow. This recent week, his situation got worse, making his medical bills pile up, and savings running out to cover his basic needs and stable housing situation.
Justin has always been a fighter. With all that in mind, I want to raise as much money as possible for Justin, with the hope of supporting him to overcome his current financial hardships and continue seeing the world and traveling. As I do not have enough money to help him, I am setting this fund up to accomplish and help Justin as much as possible.
I pray and hope good news will come to Justin and even better, a miracle for him and his Mom.
There are a couple of ways you can help:
1/ If you wish to provide monetary assistance, you can donate to this GoFundMe and it will go directly to Justin for any medical bills, support, and whatever he needs.
2/ He is currently in San Jose, so if you would like to drop off food or anything you could think of, please contact me here so that I can let him know.
All donations matter and are gratefully appreciated. Please share this with as many people as you can.
Please keep Justin in your thoughts and prayers ❤️
If you have any questions or concerns you can contact me, Thinh Pham
*UPDATE 1* 02/07/24
This does not happen without your help. Massive kudos to everyone who has been on Justin’s side to help him when he’s in his difficult time. I’m going back to Stanford tomorrow to start the transfer process to Justin and I hope he’ll get this by Lunar New Year . Again, please share this GoFundMe so that Justin’s story could be heard. We are deeply grateful for your act of generosity and kindness.
