Justin's Promise
Donation protected
My Husband has been best friends with Justin's Dad- Paul, since Justin was born. So when we received the call on Father's Day in 2017 from Paul; that his sons Mother Latrese Dorsey was shot and killed, In front of her two youngest children Jada 4 & Justin 14 we were shocked. Mouth agape. My first thought was how friendly Latrese was, and how she had this contagious, bright beautiful smile that lit up wherever she was.
I was jolted back to reality, by hearing that Justin had to get help, and hold his mother in her final moments. We were heartbroken for the family.
THEN in court while his mothers murderer was being sentenced; 14 year old Justin stood & read a powerful speech , about how he wasn't gonna let the fact that this coward took his mother's life away, stop him from becoming who he's supposed to be. He would succeed because its what his mother wanted.
It was the bravest thing i had ever personally witnessed.
You guys.. fast forward 4 years, and watching this boy turn into a young man, receive therapy, look out for his little sister, hit the gym to workout 6 days a week, he's the definition of NO EXCUSES
He's about to be off to college on scholarship for football, at Ferris State with a 4.0 and will study physical therapy just like his mommy.
I sent his story to the news, hoping to get him some much deserved love and light for his accomplishments; and since the story has been getting traction, people want to know where and how they can help. At least that's what I'm hoping. If you guys can find it in your hearts to donate what you can and maybe we can send him off to college with a slightly less heavier load. Lets make his mom proud you guys!!!
