Justin’s medical journey

Donation protected
Last week, Justin had a stroke.
Justin popped his neck in the morning and started having weird vision changes and neck pain, but other than that, he was okay, so he continued to work. A few hours later, everything hit the wall, and he had every stroke symptom and more. We didn’t know it yet, but most likely, him popping his neck caused a dissection of his artery in the cerebellum. He was taken by ambulance to the closest hospital where, in our words, he was not taken care of properly and was given medical neglect. He was eventually life-flighted to Seton Medical Center where he’s been given great care.

He is in the very early stages of recovery but so far doing so good. Every person says he’s a strong fighter. Our next steps are inpatient rehab to build his muscles and coordination. He’s only 35 and has always been active so this is extra mentally hard on him.

While Justin’s health and well-being come first in all of our hearts, we unfortunately still have to deal with life that moves along around us, including that high financial stress. Unfortunately, he does not have paid medical leave for this amount of time off, so we are asking our village for help. Any help would be so appreciated. Any funds will go to current bills, future medical bills, gas for visiting him, food for him and family, paying for parking at the hospital, and every thing inbetween.

They also accidentally found a mass on his kidney throughout all this. So far, they think it’s most likely cancerous but in early stages. They’re planning on removing it and a partial amount of the kidney once he’s out of rehab for the stroke.

We ask you don’t text Justin at this time just to keep his stress and stimulation down. You can message Kelly if you’d like to chat and she is of course relaying all the love to him!

We also put together an Amazon wish list of things we think would be helpful during recovery, from items to help with pain to things that will bring him comfort.

All we want is for him to be happy and chasing his 5 kiddos around as soon as he can again.

As most of you know, Justin’s one of the most selfless, caring people in the world, and we just hope we can show him the same compassion during this hard time in his and his family’s life.
