Preston Petty Support Fund

Innovator, pioneer, racer, and supporter in the world of off-road motorcycling are all words that describe Preston Petty. For those who know him personally, add proud, kind, generous, helpful, enthusiastic, creative, and entertaining. For myself and many others, he is also a great friend, mentor, coach, and mechanic.
For the past couple years, Preston has been struggling wth COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmnary Disease) Breathing and physical exertion have become quite difficult for him. Last week, Preston was admitted to the hospital after he was found non-responsive in the RV where he was living alone with his family of 3 cats. He had not eaten in several days, was severely malnourished, and had contracted Pneumonia. Today, his condition has improved slightly and his niece has stepped up to take him in until he can recover enough to go back to his family of cats and the workshop in the crane yard he loves so dearly.
Preston is not a wealthy man in terms of money. He lives solely on a small social security income and performs odd service jobs where he can for friends. He is trying to start a business to manufacture motorcycle grips but it is a year of so away from generating any real income. While Preston has a handshake agreement and fully endorses the people who are now selling replica plastic motorcycle fenders, He has not recieved any revenue at this point. He simply gave them his name to use and provided technical support - no strings attached. Preston's RV is quite old and is extremely deteriorated. The truck on loan to him has over 400,000 miles on it. He will need regular medical and living assistance in the years to come. He has no medical insurance and relies on what minimal government assistance is available.
This proud man would not think of asking for any help. That's why we are setting up this fund to support Preston Petty. He will recieve 100% of the money collected. He would like to buy and outfit a used trailer to live in, a small Sprinter type van to drive, and be able to offset the medical and life assistance costs that are stacking up.
If you have ever ridden a dirtbike, raced a dirtbike, used any of his innovations, or followed any of the incredible stories of this man's life, please donate a little or a lot to support Preston Petty. AMA hall of famer, the man in blue coveralls thanks you!
