Help For Mina

Marina “Mina” Vera was just over 21 weeks pregnant with her first child. The baby was a boy, and she was so excited. She and her boyfriend had lovingly nicknamed the little boy “Murphy.” While is Colorado spending time with her boyfriend, Marina began feeling sick, experiencing fatigue, intermittent fevers, and a return of nausea. She tried taking it easy and resting, but began bleeding and cramping on Monday, 11/16, and soon after her water broke. She was taken to the hospital by her boyfriend where they were advised that little Murphy had passed away. She was given medication to help induce labor and dilate her cervix so they could get baby out, but before that could happen her temperature spiked to 104 degrees and her blood pressure dropped to dangerously low levels. She was immediately transferred out to a large University hospital where she underwent an emergent procedure to get little Murphy out. Her procedure went well, but she went into full septic and cardiogenic shock, and was transferred to the ICU, intubated and in critical condition, where she remains today, fighting for her life. Being out of state and at an out-of-network provider, and facing an extensive hospitalization, she is going to need help with her medical bills, hopeful recovery, and help with giving little Murphy a proper resting place.
