Team Lana

Lana is 6 years old and was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis type 1 when she was 6 months old. At this time they found an optic tumor that doesn’t typically grow with people who have NF. After a follow up visit 3 months later the doctors found another tumor, and then it wasn’t soon after they found a third tumor. She’s been on chemotherapy since she was 9 months old. Eventually the three tumors grew together and made one massive tumor that has continued to show resistance to all types of chemotherapy the oncologist has tried. Now Lana has run out of time and the tumor has taken up so much space that it’s either the tumor wins or the surgeons attempt to remove it. Doing this she will be blind coming out of surgery and may or may not have other major complications.
