Hey everyone, my name is Vicky and I am currently in year 12. I have been recently nominated to represent Australia at the London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF) this July! Along with 30 other curious minds of Australia, I have been invited to attend this highly prestigious program for my aspiration to pursue science.
LIYSF brings together 500 students from across the world to explore the field of science, technology, engineering and maths. The spectacular program will equip young people like myself with opportunities to learn, explore and collaborate with people from a range of different cultures. I look forward to sharing my passion for the "intellectual and practical pursuit of the natural and physical behaviour of the world" (LIYSF) with like-minded students and professionals.
There is also an extension program from the 7-13th of August to visit The European Organization for Nuclear Research, CERN in Switzerland. CERN operates the largest particle physics laboratory in the world. There are a very limited number of students accepted to this program so I am desperately trying to raise the money required to secure my spot! This opportunity will assist me immensely, especially towards my particular area of interest, Physics.
Although I am incredibly honoured to be invited to this event, for me to attend I must pay for my expenses. These include accommodation, food, events at the forum and transport to and around London. The total cost for me will be at least $8500. As such I am seeking donations as they will make such a difference to me and my goal of being able to attend this once in a lifetime event. I will be forever grateful for anyone who can help me achieve this goal. Big or small, I wholeheartedly appreciate everyone's support. This will help me greatly in achieving my dream of becoming a future science leader.
