Katherine's Adoption Fund
Donation protected
My granddaughter Katherine (Kat) was born to my daughter in May of 2014. Unfortunately as much as my daughter loves Kat she is unable to properly care for her. My daughter has gone astray and made some unfortunate decisions. I have had primary custody of Kat since December of 2014 and we are the only family she knows.
Kat was born at 25 weeks, 3 months premature, at 1lb 3oz, and is doing very well but will continue to require special treatment from various medical professionals for years to come. To give you all an idea, she has a doctor who monitors her oxygen levels for night time use, a nutritionist who monitors her nutritional development, and a therapist who monitors her progress on a monthly basis, and is about to start physical, occupational, and speech therapy. She also requires a lung doctor to monitor her lungs, a doctor that monitors her eyes to ensure they are healthy, and receives a Synagis shot for RSV (to keep her from getting RSV), and her pediatrician follows her as well, of course. I know that we can get her to all her appointments to help meet those medical needs and provide her with the happiness and security that she deserves in a stable home environment.
To guarantee that our precious Kat continues to get the stability, care, and support that she needs to thrive it is imperative that I get legal custody of Kat. My daughter has agreed to the legal adoption of Kat but too it’s an expensive process and needs to happen soon before more unforunate decisions are made that impact Kat in a negative manner. The legal fees for the adoption will total approximately $4,000.
With a humble and open heart, setting my pride aside for Kat’s sake, I am asking for your help to give Kat a forever home.
