Support the Tran family

Hi, on behalf of the Tran family we would like to share Chandler’s story.
It was Good Friday - April 15th, 2022. The Tran family were looking forward to enjoying the Easter break. Chandler’s parents noticed that Chandler was limping while walking around the house and discovered a small bump (no larger than a pea) on his shin.
After a day the lump had not disappeared and after some further investigations, they received the news that no parent wishes to hear. Their 7 year old son had been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma – a type of bone cancer. Imaging also showed that the tumours had spread to his lungs.
In the past 6 months since his diagnosis, Chandler has been through multiple rounds of chemotherapy, suffering ongoing fevers, infections, and pain. He has had multiple long hospital stays and even had to spend his 8th birthday in hospital. Unfortunately, the cancer did not respond as well as hoped and spread so quickly that an above knee amputation had to happen in order to give him any chance of survival.
While the leg (and tumour) are gone, the tumours in his lungs have only gotten worse. Unfortunately doctors now don’t believe there is any further treatment they can provide that will cure him and Cong and Trang have made the tough decision not to proceed with any further chemotherapy.
Update 26 November 2022:
Chandler chose to leave us peacefully in his sleep at 2AM on Friday 25th November, 2022.
He waited until everyone had come to say their goodbyes for the day, and then for Mummy to go to sleep before taking his final little breath.
We already miss him so much.
We are asking for your help to ease the financial pressures for the Tran family.
Your support will:
- Cover the funeral cost for Chandler
- Help to ease their financial burden
- Go towards their bills and other utilities whilst they are not working
- Provide assistance to them and their other son with other essential living expenses
The support that the Tran family has received from the hospital, family, neighbours, work and school has really touched them. It's been overwhelming and they thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
If you’ve read up to here, thank you for taking the time and we hope their experience can help with childhood cancer awareness.
Thank you for your generosity.
Much love from the Tran family and friends
