Michelle's Fight against Cancer
Spende geschützt
Update!
We first started this campaign mid 2019. When my cousin Michelle was diagnosed of Glioblastoma. A lot has happened with Michelle, because of everyone that has donated 10 months ago, she has finished her 1st rounds of treatments and she has been busy cooking. She used her talent of cooking to help her family financially with her medical bills and other medical needs. With her cooking, she's also able to share some of her blessings to her community by making meals to the homeless shelter in her county for the last 3 months and now she is also making meals for 33 families of Backpack Buddy of Loudoun County starting tomorrow September 10th. Cooking has been her getaway from all her aches and pains.
Yesterday, she had an unscheduled brain MRI due to her passing out and changes in her visions. The imaging showed a changed in the size of the tumor which is pinching a nerve. Now, they have to change the plan of action for her treatment to hopefully get it under control. She has started her Proton therapy yesterday and now she will start another round of chemotherapy. Michelle is physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted. Again, my family has never been ones to ask for donations; however, all of her treatments, copays, loss of pay from her husbands missed work days, and travel expenses, the costs have become overwhelming especially now they have to travel to John Hopkins every week. Everyone that knows Michelle can speak to her fighting spirit, loving nature and dedication to her loved ones. She has never let her diagnosis stop her from achieving her goals and being a leader in her community. She is an amazing mother, wife, daughter, coach and friend to everyone she meets. If you are able to help her in any capacity again, it would mean the world to our family. Every penny counts.
And to all our prayer warriors, we serve a God of miracles! Please continue to pray for her healing, wisdom and healing hands from the doctors, understanding from the insurance company, and relief from the financial stress that this has placed on Michelle and her family. We are so thankful for everyone that has walked with her throughout this journey as she continues to fight.
Hello, all!
Our beloved cousin, Michelle, is going through aggressive treatments for stage 4 cancer. She has fought and beat cancer twice but has recently discovered that it has metastasized with a grade III-IV form of Glioblastoma multiforme. While it historically has a low survival rate, aggressive treatments have been shown to slow down the growth and hopefully shrink the tumor. My family has never been ones to ask for donations; however, with all of her treatments, copays, loss of pay from her husbands missed work days, and travel expenses, the costs have become overwhelming. Their insurance company has denied a couple of their claims several times and, while the hospital is continuing to fight for them to get approved, time is of the essence. Everyone that knows Michelle can speak to her fighting spirit, loving nature and dedication to her loved ones. She has never let her diagnosis stop her from achieving her goals and being a leader in her community. She is an amazing mother, wife, daughter, coach and friend to everyone she meets. If you are able to help her in any capacity, it would mean the world to our family.
