Rhonda's Cancer Treatment Fund

My name is Rhonda Williams and in August 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I could not believe I had cancer because I had a mammogram in February 2014 and the result was normal, follow up in 1 year. While performing a breast self exam in August 2014, I felt a lump. I immediately scheduled an appointment with my doctor and after several appointments and a multitude of tests, I was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer.  We were told the cancer was agressive and the doctor's recommended that I have chemotherapy prior to surgery to stop the growth and narrow the chances of the cancer spreading to other parts of my body. 

I started chemotherapy in September 2014. I have health insurance, unfortunately, I have a $2500 deductible and a $10, 400 out of pocket expense for a total of $12,900 that has to be paid before my insurance covers me at 100%. In February 2015, I will need surgery to remove the tumor. My deductible and out of pocket amounts started again in January because it is a new calendar year. I will need to meet my deductible and out of pocket amounts once again prior to the insurance paying at 100%.

My husband and I are thankful for our faith, family and friends that have helped us cope and maintain. We have been trying to manage our mounting debt but have come to terms with the fact that we need help.
