In Loving Memory of Catalina Alvarado Lopez
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of Catalina Alvarado Lopez, a beloved mother, friend, and cherished member of our Park City community. Catalina passed away unexpectedly today 12/19/24, leaving behind her daughter and son, residents of Park City.
Catalina moved to Park City over two decades ago, choosing to raise her children (now young adults) in this beautiful small town because it reminded her so much of her hometown in Michoacán, Mexico. She was drawn to the town’s four distinct seasons and its warm, tight-knit community—qualities that made her feel at home, even far from her native country.
A selfless, hardworking woman, Catalina dedicated her life to her children. She made countless sacrifices, always putting their needs above her own. Her unwavering love and commitment to her family were evident in everything she did. She was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, attending weekly services, where she found comfort and strength in her faith.
Catalina’s love for her family extended beyond our borders—her deep ties to Mexico were a source of pride for her, and she carried the spirit and traditions of her homeland with her every day. She was a fierce protector of her children and would go to any lengths to see them thrive.
As we mourn this devastating loss, we are asking for help to cover funeral expenses and provide financial support for Catalina's son and daughter, who are now faced with the unimaginable task of navigating life without their mother. This fund will also help honor Catalina’s legacy by ensuring her children are supported in their journey forward and can make a mother’s dream come true for her children.
Thank you for your generosity during this difficult time. Any contribution, large or small, will go directly to supporting her children and helping them carry on Catalina’s dreams and memory. If you would like to give a gift (non-monetary), such as a coupon, membership or voucher you can drop off these gifts at the Park City Community Foundation during regular business hours. Your kindness is a testament to the love that Catalina shared with all of us. We all feel very grateful to be living in such an incredible community.
May Catalina rest in peace, and may her children find strength and comfort in the love that surrounds them.
