I've always been a strong believer in the importance of acting on the issue of climate change, but now it is time to do more. In May 2020, my 19-year-old brother passed away. Haydn loved oceans and was a huge believer in preserving and restoring our planet. I am leading this campaign with the Earth in mind, and Haydn in my heart.
Many say plastic is the scourge of our oceans. I am working with a well-known organization to make a difference and save our seas. They have already pulled 9 million pounds of trash from the sea, which they recycle into products like bracelets and shirts.
My mission is to raise $4,000 with the goal to pull 400 pounds from the ocean with the help of this organization. For every $10 donated, a pound of trash will be pulled from the sea.
Over a century ago, the Native American Chief Seattle said, “We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors—we borrow it from our children.” To clean up the oceans now is to secure the future of our planet and to leave to our children a sustainable earth. All donations are greatly appreciated, whether it be $4, $40, or $400. Thank you for stopping by, and taking time to be a part of something bigger.
