Lillian Gilliland was born Monday, December 7, in Hays, KS. She weighed 6lb 6 oz and was 22 inches long. She was born with a heart defect called Transposition of the Great Arteries, in which the two main arteries leaving the heart (aorta and pulmonary arteries) are reversed. Due to this, she suffered a few other injuries from lack of oxygen and toxic blood being pumped to her body. They had her on a lung machine to correct it. She is less puffy though more stable. Seizures have stopped. EEG's, CAT scans, and MRIs are taking place, what feels like daily to check for hemorrhaging. She will need heart bypass surgery in the coming weeks. The doctors do predict some damage, but are not sure to what extent. The family is taking it day by day. Latitia is in Kansas City with Lillian currently and Mikey will be making the 6 hours trip back and fourth to be with Latitia and Lillian in KC and with their five other children back home. The road ahead is unknown for the family at this time. Please find it in your hearts to help this family of 8 to alleviate some of their financial burdens, enabling them to focus on their newborn and their other young children who have not been able to spend much time with due to focusing on Lillian and having their children stay with and watched by family members. It is especially difficult with it being the holiday season. Due to these unexpected and sever circumstances, neither parent is able to work because of what life has handed them. Your compassion and generosity will be greatly appreciated. Please pray for our warrior princess.
