Help the Halstedts!

Please help us raise money to help my sweet neighbors the Halstedts.
So let me tell you about Rich and Karen. These people are great. They have helped look after my children as if they are their own grandbabies and looked after my home while we are away. And we try to do what we can as they are older and they can't do everything and sadly their own sons live too far. They are two very sweet people who have really hit some hard times, not a great way to start the new year.
To start Karen, who has been battling with several complications and infections after mulitple surgeries to improve her health became badly ill again with an infection in her legs and stomach (I believe it is some kind of blood infection but I am not going to ask a distressed husband to elabotae) on New Years and has been in the hospital since. She is on a breathing machine now and the doctors are having trouble placing a cuplrit as all her tests and blood work are coming back fine but her body obviously isn't. UPDATE on 1/12 Karen has a stroke on Saturday and is on life support until the rest of the family can arrive.
This alone has created finacial issues as she cannot work due to being sick (she is receiving disability) and he has been at her side making it hard for him to work. Thankfully his job is being supportive but we aren't sure how much longer.. So with little income coming in the trips to the hospital are adding up, fast!
So as they are struggling to put together a plan of action Rich's mother passed away to only add another dark shadow over this already gloomy situation. So he is terrible stressed over his wife's health and the greif of lossing his mom.
And then they took another blow! The furnance was having trouble working and we called on a wonderful man who is willing to give them a deal and work with us to replace it but right now we are at 6 degrees here in Michigan and these blasted trailers have hrrible insulation. So he is cold.
So I ask you if you can make a donation to help us help my sweet neighbors. I can only do so much and this one is out of my hands.
The majority of the funds raised will be to replace the furnance the rest will be to help with gas, groceries, and paying bills.
UPDATE! Since we have raised enough for the furnace we are now turning the focus to being able to give Karen a proper burial. All monies raised here on out will be to put this sweet woman to rest.
Thank you for your time!
