K Miller Family Car Accident

UPDATE:
Thank you to all of you who have supported the K. Miller family. They got home last night and are so grateful to all of you and your thoughts, prayers, and donations.
On Monday evening 6/26 both Kyle and Kaden went in for plastic surgery for their face and arm wounds. Kaden stayed at Fresno Valley Children's until Wednesday recovering. He will have more surgeries for scar revision in the future, but thankful to be alive. On Tuesday evening they discovered that Kyle had a fractured C7 in his neck. On Wednesday they discovered he actually had a fractured T3 in his back as well. He was released.

Wednesday morning Kaila took Kyle to his doctor who ordered them to return to Stanford Emergency Room concerned about his scans and his arm wounds requiring more attention. In ER they discovered he actually has a fractured T2-T7 and a fractured rib. He was in a back brace and neck brace that was pushing on his broken collar bone causing extreme discomfort. He went in for surgery on his collarbone on Friday. He spent the night at Stanford and is officially a Stanford fan. Don't be surprised if you see him rocking Stanford merch after such a great experience there.

Kyle is home and will not be able to return to work for quite some time, 3-6 months at least and partially unpaid. Kaila was recently informed that her time off from work will be fully unpaid, and because she is an able-bodied parent, she is responsible for driving the kids and being the caretaker for Kyle and Kaden as they recover. Because of the complications of the hit-and-run, we are anticipating push-back from the guilty party. As you can imagine their stress levels are through the roof. We want them to relax and not worry and just keep staying positive.

Thank you to all of you who have donated, and to those of you who have shared. They are coming out of this so strong!
Hi Everyone,
Early morning on June 26th, Kyle, Kaila, their four kids, and their dog got in their 99 Chevy Suburban and headed for San Diego for what was supposed to be a fun-filled vacation. Unfortunately, 2 hours into the drive on 152, a 4-lane highway, the car in the lane next to them swerved and hit their family vehicle. Their Suburban slammed into a pole and rolled several times down a 10-foot ditch and up the other side, landing right-side up. We were not far behind them and arrived at the scariest situation.

My sister Kaila was the first one out of the vehicle, pulling each kid and the dog out one by one. Then, my sister found her husband unresponsive hanging out of the driver's side stuck in the car frame and bleeding severely. She held his head together for 40 minutes until first responders arrived with the jaws of life. Kyle was airlifted to a hospital in Modesto and put in the Trauma unit. The kids were split up between 2 ambulances my sister rode with two kids and I rode with the other two to the children's hospital in Fresno.
Kyle has been stabilized and luckily has no brain damage. However, Kyle, has a broken collarbone, vertebrae, severe facial cosmetic damage, and severe bruising all over his body. Hopefully, no more damage comes up but we have concerns about more injuries showing up.

My nephew and nieces were taken one hour east to Fresno Childrens Hospital where most of them stayed for the day. Everyone had at least one black eye, severe cuts, and bruising. Our nephew, Kaden went into plastic surgery for cosmetic stitching and a broken nose. Both Kaden and Kyle are expecting to have more cosmetic surgeries to help with facial stitches and scarring.

We are truly lucky everyone made it out alive. That was one of the scariest days of our lives.
We are seeking financial assistance to help with expected Medical Bills, care expenses, and expected time away from work. This is going to be a hard road to recovery mentally and physically and any support from our community is greatly appreciated.
We have a lawyer ready to represent them and have built up a case to put toward insurance companies. We are expecting financial assistance in the future but do not know how the next few months will go.
Please reach out to them if you know them everyone involved has been through a lot.
