Erin’s Journey

Erin has been bravely sharing her story since April 22, 2022, when she was first diagnosed with Stage 2 - Grade 3, triple negative breast cancer.

From May 31, 2022 to September 9, 2022, Erin endured her first round of chemotherapy, and on November 18, 2022, underwent a double mastectomy. The results were not what we hoped for as residual cancer was still present. From June 2022, to present, Erin has been undergoing immunotherapy treatment, which, like chemotherapy has left her with many side effects that have impacted her daily life.

Erin hoped to return to work, but her oncologist has denied that request, as it would leave her exposed to picking up an infection from one of her students.

What Erin does not share, is that because she was a supply ECE she has never had any sick benefits. Unfortunately, our government only offers 24 weeks of sick benefits at half of her normal income. All of her benefits have long been exhausted.

So today, I humbly ask you to help me and ease the burden on Erin, and her incredibly supportive family.
