Help me fight for my kids

Hello, my name is Vincent and I'm fighting to get my kids back. Please, let me explain.

My life is my children. Those two little people (pictured above) are my entire world.

I am a black man in America who has had their children taken from them based on the word of their mother who has a history of drug abuse, who at this moment is in rehab; she signed herself in right after giving a false statement to the Children Services and the Police.

You might be asking yourself, didn't I know she was like this when we got together? Didn't I know what I was signing up for? And the answer is complicated. At the start of our relationship, she was a different person. Then I noticed little things, which eventually led her to come clean with me and led to her going to rehab.

We found out she was pregnant with our son (who is now 2 years old). Everything was going so well in our lives. Sadly, it wasn't meant to last. I came home, and she was nodding out and I found out she was back on drugs. She cried and cried, promising to get clean. I thank God every day that my son was born healthy.

Again, things went back to being great again. We found out she was pregnant again, this time with my daughter (who is now 7 months old). We were thrilled! My daughter, unfortunately, was not as lucky as my son. She had to spend extra time in the hospital due to her mother doing drugs again.

She went back to rehab, and things seemed to be going well. I hoped with everything I had that this time it would stick, that this time we could really have a shot of having a loving family. We even got married this past Thanksgiving! We were happy.

After Christmas, however, things took a horrible turn. The mother of my children decided that drugs were more important than her family.

I am fully aware that addiction is a disease, and she needs help. It's heartbreaking but I just couldn't keep this cycle of happiness being torn down by drugs to lies of sobriety. I have to do what's best for my kids, so I told her I no longer wanted her in my life. You have to understand, I strongly believe in second chances. I've had times in my life where a second chance saved me. There are only so many chances I have in me, though.

My children's mother has made it as difficult as possible for me to see my kids, which she knew would hurt more than anything. So, as she sits in rehab once again while lying to Children's Services, I'm here fighting for my life and my children's.

A lawyer in Ohio costs $4,000 just for a retainer and this is just the start. Court is on March 9th where I will be fighting for my kids. I work hard, 40-60 hours a week, to make sure my kids have food, clothes, and a roof over their heads. I would do anything for my kids, even if it means swallowing what little pride I have left and ask for help.

Please. Help me get my kids back.
