Safe Haven: Donate to Genesis Women's Shelter
Tax deductible
In 2018, The city of Dallas provided refuge to 5,815 courageous individuals, including victims and children, seeking safety from domestic violence. Genesis Women’s Shelter has been an indispensable guardian of this crisis, offering unwavering support, protection, and shelter to families fleeing abusive environments. As a verified 501(C)(3) nonprofit, Genesis is passionately committed to ensuring safety, raising awareness, and empowering survivors of domestic violence to break free from life-threatening situations.
Genesis Women's Shelter operates emergency shelters in undisclosed locations, ensuring immediate safety for women escaping perilous circumstances. They also offer long-term housing, guiding individuals toward safe independence. Alongside housing, Genesis provides counseling and legal services, aiding survivors as they navigate their journeys with professional assistance at no cost.
As entrepreneurship students at the University of North Texas, our crowdfunding campaign seeks to extend a helping hand to those enduring verbal, financial, physical, emotional, and spiritual abuse. Last year alone, Genesis accommodated 3,700 women and children, providing refuge in emergency shelters, transitional housing, and counseling offices. These brave survivors often arrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs, having made the courageous decision to break free from dangerous situations, ultimately saving their lives.
Every day, thousands of women and children suffer at the hands of domestic abuse, desperately seeking food, shelter, and basic necessities while living in fear. Your donation enables us to provide these individuals with essential support for a fresh start towards a safe and successful life.
Our initiative, Safe Haven, is dedicated to uplifting and empowering survivors of domestic violence across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, emphasizing the critical need for intervention. Through our partnership with Genesis Women’s Shelter, our mission is to offer at least 11 individuals a night of safety, including a warm meal and a secure place to rest. By aiming to assist at least 11 individuals in the DFW area, our project provides comprehensive support, serving as the first step towards healing, rebuilding, and achieving independence.
Join us in making a tangible difference in the lives of domestic violence survivors, fostering a community where everyone can flourish. Together, we can create a brighter, safer future for all.
