Help for Harlows surgery
Donation protected
Little Harlow came into care with Furkids Rescue around 7 and 1/2 weeks ago. She was part of a large colony and came to us an estimated 5 month old, 2 weeks pregnant and malnourished.
Harlow thrived as soon as she came into my care, gaining weight and learning humans can be trusted. Her 5 babies arrived on the 13th November healthy and strong.
Sadly, not even a week later Harlows health declined rapidly and she was admitted for treatment and monitoring for 5 nights at the vet with the only sign being a dangerously high temp of 42.
Placed on an IV and given other treatments, she showed gradual improvement and was able to return home on Thursday 14th. However, today revealed the cause of her mysterious illness with an internal abscess bursting on her poor tummy.
Harlow has been rushed to the emergency 24 hour vet today. Upon inspection of the wound it was discovered to be filled with dead tissue and will need emergency surgery to remove this and ensure nothing else is going on. Her babies are well and being bottled fed whilst she receives treatment.
Now Furkids Rescue is facing another overwhelmingly large bill. I’m seeking help to elevate the financial strain this will have on a non profit rescue, particularly at this time of year with kitten season in full swing.
If you have even a spare dollar to donate it will help make a difference and allow us to continue to help little lives like our sweet Harlow.
UPDATE 25.11.24
Harlows temp seems to be stabilising, she is responding well to the medication. Her appetite is back and we are hopefully now on the road to a successful recovery.
Thank you to everyone who was able to donate so far. Your support is very appreciated
