Keep my American Dream Alive !!!

Hi everyone !

My name is Heloisa,

I was born and raised in Brazil and cooking was always my passion.  Opening a restaurant was my dream.

People always said my homemade cooking reminded them of their own moms food. When I came to Portland, over 10 years ago, I was fascinated by the Food carts history and their diversity. I knew my dream was only a dream … Once I started working at a prestigious food cart I was encouraged to pursue my dream. I had no funds, no savings and it was hard to make ends meet. My dream seemed to be impossible for a person of my standards.  We know owning a full-scale restaurant requires a large investment, that's why I thought of opening a food cart to offer my tasty ethnic specialty : BRAZILIAN FOOD.   

Sacrifices were made and after a life long of hard work, the dream came true ! Two years ago BRAZILIAN HOUSE FOOD CART was born. The first and only to offer fine Brazilian Food in Portland (We cater for all occasions)

It's very rewarding being able to bring my culture to the city and being part of the "Portland Food cart phenomenon" but the journey has its hurdles … I literally work every day to keep my dream alive. I currently do not own a car and have to take two buses to come to my food cart and do the grocery shopping daily, since the cart has little storage. By noon the food is already prepared to open the cart and wait for the customers. On top of all my current expenses and the bills that keep piling up, next month I will have to move my cart to a new location. This is a cost I can not afford right now. This is the reason some friends (that appreciate the fact that I offer delicious Brazilian food at an affordable price), suggested GoFundMe
