Please help Mia

It saddens my heart to tell you that sweet Mia passed away yesterday afternoon during dialysis. The doctors did all they possibly could to save her, they said she was a fighter to the end.

My brother and his wife made the trip to pick up last night and he buried her this morning. As you can only imagine, their hearts are broken with the loss, this is not the way they wanted or expected to bring their baby home.

I spoke to my brother this morning, he said it was up to me what I wanted to do about the gofundme. They have spent well over $15,000 of their savings trying to save her and I know he would have done more if needed. This is not the final bill, the hospital said it would be sometime next week before they would have it.

I am leaving this up for a week if anyone else would like to donate anything to help them with this unexpected expense. My brother is very proud and I had to explain to him, this is not a hand out, it is about love and about people caring about him and animals. I go many places and hear people tell me what a wonderful man Thurman Braxton is and I totally agree with them.

My name is Karen, I come to you asking for help for my brother Thurman Braxton and his family to help save his Dachshund Mia. She somehow about a week ago swallowed a penny and had to have surgery to have it removed. The copper from the penny has caused considerable amount of damage to poor little Mia’s body. She has had several blood transfusions and now is going to have dialysis to try to rid her body of the poison caused from the copper. This can cost over $20,000. She is at NC State Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Hospital in Raleigh. She is receiving the best care possible. If you find it in your heart to donate to help this family, please know they will appreciate it more than words can ever say. My brother has always been there to help others in need and he works hard everyday at 73 years of age. I love him so much and my heart hurts for what he is going through!
