The Grace Family

We are the Grace Family. My name is Xavier Grace. I am Married to my beautiful wife Theresa Grace and we have 2 Girls and one boy. Jordan 14, Izabella 2, and Giavanna 6 months. Me and my wife have struggled for years and we had finally made it out of the poverty cycle. I then lost my Job, our home and our Vehicle. That then pushed me to enlist in the armed forces. My wife was here with our two youngest taking care of them and doing everything she wasn’t supposed to with all of her health conditions. Her main one being an abdominal hernia that requires surgery. And I was aware of these before enlisting but we were left with no other option(s). After having no success on finding another job. I enlisted in the US Navy. During my time of service I sent money home for my wife to take care of herself and the children’s need and being so behind and trying to get ahead and get moved and get transportation it wasn’t enough. While in service I found out my liver diseas is at stage 4 NAFLD (Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease) which is NASH (Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis) accompanied by Fibrosis. This is the stage before cirrhosis of the liver. This forced the navy to seperate me. The navy sent me home without a severance check or anything and we have had to survive once again. My family is in need of so many things and My wife and I cannot do this alone we are reaching out to resources that keep sending us on a wild goose chase and false hopes. We are trying everything we know. We are a Christian family and we refuse to let this take our faith away or turn our backs on God. We know God has his hand in our storm and he always has. We will not give up, and we will not quit no matter how hard things get or how big the storm is.

Update: I have been doing all I can to get my Veterans Affairs relations in order to help my family. I’m waiting on claims and appeals which takes months/years. I’m trying to get HUD VASH help for housing but, We are still struggling with no home or transportation. We are going thru serious physical and mental repercussions from our situation. Our last donation was over a month ago. We used our previous donations to catch up on bills that were couple months behind and paid them ahead. Covered us on food for a while and things the babies needed as well. We are now back to being very low on resources.
