Running for a Reason

On April 13, I will be running the Canberra Marathon, not just for myself, but for something much bigger. I’m running to raise money for the Nelune Foundation, an incredible organisation that provides vital support for cancer patients, ensuring they receive the care and treatment they need, regardless of their circumstances.

This cause is deeply personal to me. In late 2023 I was diagnosed with a brain tumour and whilst fortunate that my tumour was not cancerous the road to recovery has not been easy and the Nelune Foundation was instrumental in helping me and my family navigate an incredibly scary time. Seeing firsthand the amazing work they do made me realise just how important their mission is - not just for patients but for the loved ones who walk alongside them through every step of the journey.

Running a marathon is tough but it is nothing compared to the challenges faced by those battling cancer every day. By raising funds for the Nelune Foundation, I hope to help them continue their work, providing essential services to those who need them most.

I like to think this run is a symbol of resilience, gratitude and the power of community. Whether you donate, share my story or simply offer words of encouragement your support means so much - not just to me, but to so many others.
