Help for Kooper Brooks
Donation protected
My name is Katelyn & my nephew Kooper Brooks, has just suffered a life altering rare spinal injury. He is at Children's Hospital in Boston resting from a major spinal surgery.
I am hoping the community will help me support Kooper & his family during this unbelievably hard time.
Kooper is 13, entering 9th grade in Berwick Maine this fall. He is going to have a long road to recovery. At current he cannot move from his waist down. We are praying for that miracle. Please keep him in your prayers. You can reach out to me directly as well.
Thank you for helping us lift this boy up.
I can also provide a venmo link for Mom & address to drop off or mail cards.
We will be researching grants/services for home modifications, mental health support, wheelchair ramps, vehicles etc.
Update From his Mom: This is so life changing for Kooper, thank you for keeping him in your thoughts & all the support thus far.
Kooper was experiencing leg pains off and on last week. He was brought to be seen and it was suspected that it was growing pains. The pains continued and Monday he was unable to bear weight on his legs. He was seen at a local hospital and then medflighted into Boston. There they found that he had a lesion on the inside of his spinal cord and it needed to be removed immediately. Kooper underwent surgery and the lesion was removed. We aren’t sure what the future holds for Kooper but as of now he is unable to feel or function from the hips down. For all of you who know Kooper, he is an energetic and charismatic kid. He’s a sure spitfire. He is strong & determined. Continued support and thoughts are going to be needed as he navigates through this time.
Kooper is in Boston but my daughter has also been in the hospital admitted since Wednesday locally (what are the odds) so when she is discharged I will be headed back to Boston ASAP. I am calling in for nurse updates and Kooper has been able to get into a wheel chair and visit the rooftop. They are keeping him in good spirits ❤️
