UPDATE:

Unfortunately the Peacock has been faced with yet another obstacle.

On Friday December 29th a car came crashing into our store front. Thankfully we did not have any guests on the patio or in the bar at the time of the incident, it could have been much worse. Everyone is ok including the driver and her passenger. I am in shock that this happened and having a hard time processing it. I am reaching out again to ask for your help to keep us going during this time of uncertainty.

While we have insurance, it does not cover the insurmountable costs coming our way nor does it include loss of wages for our incredible staff. It will be a lengthy process with no sure timeline or outcome.

Our partner Literally, A Bookshop is also losing revenue during this time. We ask that you consider supporting her by buying books through her online bookshop until we reopen.

I am Tracy Wallace, the owner of the Peacock Wine & Book Bar. I am reaching out to our community for support. It is not easy for me to put myself out there like this but I do not see any other way. This business is my passion and the stress thinking of possibly having to close the doors makes me quite sick to my stomach. This is my last resort, as we have depleted all of our savings and retirement to keep this dream alive. Thank you for reading and helping us in anyway that you can.

The Peacock Wine Bar opened in August of 2019 as a community centered wine bar with an extensive wine list, craft beer, and small bites. The Peacock is a space for friends & family to come together, small business owners to hold events, music, and classes, and a place to learn! In September of 2023 we formed a partnership with another local small business, Literally, A Bookshop, to bring the first ever Wine & Book Bar to Gilbert.

We have pushed through and done what we can to remain a vital small family owned business, but we are at a crossroads. We find ourselves reflecting on the challenging journey that Peacock Wine & Book Bar has endured, especially in the face of the unprecedented events of the past year.

While we successfully navigated the trials of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year has proven to be exceptionally difficult for us. Despite our best efforts, we are currently facing a 30% decline in business compared to last year, and the financial strain has become increasingly challenging to bear.
