My daughter, Brittany who is a loving daughter, mom, friend, sister, granddaughter, and niece is just 26 years old and was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in October. She underwent testing and cancerous cells were detected in her lymph nodes. As a result, she has been undergoing months of chemotherapy and she still has a few more more to go!
For those of you who know her, you know that she is an extraordinary human being. She is cheerful, loving, and unbelievably strong. She always puts her friends and family before herself. Because of her diagnosis, she has been unable to work and will likely not be able to for many more months and until this is all over. While most of her medical expenses are covered, it is the everyday necessities of life where her family is struggling and money is getting tighter and tighter.
One of the most problematic side effects of her treatment she is experiencing is the extreme exhaustion she gets from chemo. She has managed to circumvent the sickness that comes with it by being proactive with her nausea medication but she spends the days following a treatment sleeping or resting. By the time she is feeling better it is time for the next treatment. This makes it extremely hard for her to watch her young son who is just 2 1/2 years old.
Brittany is one of the strongest, most selfless people I know and is always there to give her love and support to anyone who may need it. We have been trying to keep her spirits up but between money problems, losing her beautiful, long curly locks and the side effects from chemo and the medication she is always stressed and worried now.
Now, it's time that we send back some of that love and support to Brittany. Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated.
