Hi everyone, we are fundraising to help Betty who is a homeless LGBTQ woman trying to survive in Uganda. She needs help because she doesn’t have anything in terms of food and shelter and is in fear for her life now.
Betty is a 25 year old trans woman who has been through alot due to the new homophobic laws brought in by Museveni.
She was sent away from home by her relatives because of her sexual orientation as they called her satanic and said she deserved to die. She began suffering at an early age but this law that was signed has made her more scared that she will be hunted down and killed. Her house was also demolished so she has nowhere to sleep and is just on the streets.
She is also in pain due to toothache, so any amount you can spare will help Betty to buy much needed food and medication. She is hiding her identity due to the risky situation she is in so is not in the photo featured here.
