K9 BANE HERO FUND

K9 Bane and Detective McManus served the City of St. Francis for almost seven years together. K9 Bane was the first K9 for his community and served with honor. He never took a day off. He won numerous awards in his career, including the first K9 ever to win Wisconsin's First Responder of the Year Award in 2020! Unfortunately, about a month ago, K9 Bane was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy (DM). DM is an aggressive and incurable degenerative nerve disease that will eventually cause complete paralysis and cause K9 Bane's organs to shut down. There is no cure. But the duo is not giving in to this disease easily! Through donations, K9 Bane has started to use a walker-cart to assist on daily walks and a special harness to help him be more comfortable while traveling and at home. K9 Bane is receiving acupuncture therapy and undergoing hydrotherapy too. We're not going to give up the fight!

If you are able, please consider a monetary donation to the K9 Bane Hero Fund to raise money for K9 Bane's medical bills. In addition to assisting with his therapies and medications, Detective McManus has set her sights high to build a K9 Legacy Monument to honor K9 Bane and all future St. Francis K9s' service to their community! The monument with be bronze and created in Bane's likeliness!
